Parents of currently enrolled Preschool Workshop children can find out about upcoming PIP events and opportunities by visiting the Parents' Zone.

PIP (Parents in Preschool) is the organization for parents of children enrolled at The Preschool Workshop. PIP was established in 1997 and has grown successfully because of the greatly appreciated participation and dedication of The Preschool Workshop families. We strive to create opportunities for family socializing, and to provide ongoing support to the teachers and staff.

The 2006-2007 PIP co-chairpersons are Madelyn Farina and Dawn Lytle. Madelyn is a returning parent and her son, Alex, will be in the preschool program this year. Dawn is also a returning parent. Her son, Ethan, will also be entering the preschool program this year.

Our organization consists of the following committees, and their sucess depends upon the participation of parents.

WELCOME COMMITTEE – Personally calls new families during the first two weeks of school to welcome them into our preschool community and to introduce PIP.

ACTIVITY COMMITTEE - Plans and coordinates extra-curricular family activities occuring throughout the school year. Several people are needed for this committee, which will coordinate with Assistant Director Lynn when planning activities in order to avoid conflicts with PSW events.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE – Researches and coordinates, with the guidance of Assistant Director Lynn and PIP co-chairs, fundraising events for the Preschool and PIP budget.

CLASSROOM PARENT REPRESENTATIVES - Work closely with the teachers and parents, with responsibilties that include placing flyers in the children’s backpacks, and assisting with coordination of classroom parties and events.

TEACHER APPRECIATION COMMITTEE - Coordinates special events to thank the staff for their efforts in working with our children during the school year.
